We change the name of our popular Grüner Veltliner with this vintage: “Grüner Veltliner Point” becomes “Grüner Veltliner Ried Wolfsgraben”.
Since 1998 we have the Grüner Veltliner Point in our range. The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner of the classic Kremstal style have always been harvested in Wolfsgraben, a traditional (first documented in 1297), loess-dominated vineyard northeast of Krems. Due to the exact demarcation of the vineyards, we have had to replace the old name with the actual vineyard designation since this vintage – our “Grüner Veltliner Point” has thus become the “Grüner Veltliner Wolfsgraben”. Apart from the name, nothing will change. Wolfsgraben will continue to be a spicy, crisp Grüner Veltliner, whose grapes we intentionally do not harvest too late, so that it retains its balanced acidity, light character and fresh drinking flow. Delicately fruity on the nose, lively on the palate and for many years an uncomplicated food companion to classic Austrian cuisine.
